The central point of every LED lighting system is the LED controller.  It is this component that is going to appropriately power the LEDs so they do not get too much power and blow.  It also separates the LEDs into independently controllable groups to which specific functionality can be assigned.  It is the brain that tells the LEDs how and when to light.
